Bradley J. Bolzon, Ph.D.

Dr. Bolzon is a Managing Director of Versant Ventures. Prior to joining Versant, Dr. Bolzon served as Executive Vice President, Global Head of Business Development, Licensing & Alliances with F. Hoffmann-La Roche Ltd., where he directed the company’s activities related to business development strategy, product licensing, company acquisitions, and R&D alliances. Previously, Dr. Bolzon held executive roles at Eli Lilly and Company in drug discovery, business development, clinical research, and regulatory affairs. Dr. Bolzon currently serves as a board member for Amira Pharmaceuticals, Antipodean Pharmaceuticals, Sentient Pharmaceuticals, Metabolex, and Speedel Holding, and serves as Chairman of the Board of Synosia Therapeutics and Flexion Therapeutics. He is also Chairman of EuroVentures, a wholly-owned start-up incubator of Versant Ventures. Dr. Bolzon received a Ph.D. in pharmacology from the University of Toronto.

Simeon J. George, M.D.

Dr. George is a Partner at SR One. Prior to joining SR One, Dr. George was a consultant at Bain & Company and an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch. He currently serves as a board member at Genocea Biosciences and as a board observer at Rib-X Pharmaceuticals, Syntaxin, and Bicycle Therapeutics. He earned his M.D. degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and his M.B.A. degree from the Wharton School of Business, where he was a Mayer Scholar.

Paul A. Grayson

Mr. Grayson previously served as CEO of Fate Therapeutics, a San Diego-based, privately held biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of therapies that act through stem cell modulation. Before this, he was managing director of Sanderling Ventures where he was a founding board member of multiple portfolio companies including: Calcimedica, Taligen Therapeutics (acquired by Alexion Pharmaceuticals), and Naviscan. Prior to Sanderling, Mr. Grayson served as the founding Chairman and CEO of Senomyx Inc. and part of the founding management team of Aurora Biosciences (acquired by Vertex). He received his M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, and his B.A. in Computer Science and Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Christopher J. Hollowood, Ph.D.

Dr. Hollowood is a Principal at Apposite Capital. Prior to Apposite, he trained as a fund manager with Neptune Management, with responsibility for healthcare-sector investments, before moving into healthcare-focused venture capital and corporate advisory at Bioscience Managers. Dr. Hollowood has also worked in the pharmaceutical industry as a medicinal chemist at both GlaxoWellcome (now GlaxoSmithKline) and Pfizer. Dr. Hollowood received a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Cambridge University.

Andrew J. Schwab

Mr. Schwab is a Founder and Managing Partner of 5AM Ventures. At 5AM, he has led the firm's investments in and served on the Boards of Directors of Ikaria, Ilypsa (acquired by Amgen), Miikana (acquired by EntreMed), Panomics (acquired by Affymetrix), Synosia, and TivaMed. Prior to founding 5AM Ventures, Mr. Schwab was a Principal at Bay City Capital (BCC), where he led the firm's investment and merchant banking activities for such companies as Cubist Pharmaceuticals, Metabolex, PTC Therapeutics, Symyx, and Syrrx. Prior to joining BCC, Mr. Schwab was Vice President of Business Development at Digital Gene Technologies and a Vice President in the life science investment banking group of Montgomery Securities. Mr. Schwab received a B.S. in genetics & ethics from Davidson College and is a member of the Davidson Alumni Association Board.
