Paul A. Grayson – President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Grayson previously served as CEO of Fate Therapeutics, a San Diego-based, privately held biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of therapies that act through stem cell modulation. Before this, he was managing director of Sanderling Ventures where he was a founding board member of multiple portfolio companies including: Calcimedica, Taligen Therapeutics (acquired by Alexion Pharmaceuticals), and Naviscan. Prior to Sanderling, Mr. Grayson served as the founding Chairman and CEO of Senomyx Inc. and part of the founding management team of Aurora Biosciences (acquired by Vertex). He received his M.B.A. from the University of California, Irvine, and his B.A. in Computer Science and Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Casey Logan – Senior Vice President, Business Development
Casey Logan joined Anaphore in January 2011. Prior to joining Anaphore, Mr. Logan led corporate development and strategic planning efforts at Anadys Pharmaceuticals. Prior to that, he was with Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, IN, in the corporate business development group. During his career, Mr. Logan has led transactions in both in-licensing and out-licensing of assets across a range of therapeutic areas, including the creation of two startup companies. Prior to Lilly, Mr. Logan was an officer in the US Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. Mr. Logan received his M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and B.S.E. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Xavier Paliard, Pharm.D., Ph.D. – Vice President, Translational Research
Dr Paliard has over 18 years of experience in preclinical drug discovery and development, translational research, and clinical immunology. Prior to joining Anaphore, Dr. Paliard held positions of increasing seniority in pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies including ARYx, Gryphon, Merck, Chiron Corporation, and ImmuLogic Pharmaceuticals. He earned a Pharm.D. and a Ph.D. in human immunology from the Claude Bernard University in Lyon, France.
Anke Kretz-Rommel, Ph.D. – Vice President of Research & Development
Dr. Kretz-Rommel has more than 15 years of experience in discovering and developing antibodies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. Prior to Anaphore, she led multiple discovery and development efforts as head of the Cellular Immunology group at Alexion Antibody Technologies and was a key investigator on a first-in-class drug currently in clinical trials for chronic lymphocytic leukemia, leading the program from discovery through preclinical modeling and pre-IND preparation. Dr. Kretz-Rommel received her Ph.D. in toxicology from the ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
